![]() ![]() I can't and won't, and I *love* this old Mac 8600/300 and ancient Netscape, because they do exactly what I want. (And, guys, no smart-ass comments that I should buy a new computer. There were so far two others who have asked that you keep Squirrelmail. Thanks! Dane and Scott, *please* keep Squirrelmail for us who want and need it. With that geeky new Webmail, all my past messages archived with Netscape for some 15 years are down the drain and useless. Available in numerous languages, SquirrelMail can function in environments with access to an IMAP and SMTP server. And the Address Book doesn't show up or work. The biggest difference between SquirrelMail and Sonic Mail in cPanel is that SquirrelMail allows you to search email by keywords, folders, and messages. SquirrelMail is an application for web email services that is compatible with most popular browsers. National Guard scrambled Sunday at supersonic speed to intercept a private plane whose pilot was unresponsive, according to North American. If I need to search for certain items, this is by far the quickest way. One aspect I like is the ability to scroll down and see all my mail when clicking from along with show-all, instead of just a limited number. Now, instead of a simple screen, I get a HUGE page with all kinds of irrelevant (for me) garbage. I am hoping that the reason that no one from has responded to Guest Bens plea for a response to his query asking why we cannot keep at least one other application - hopefully Squirrelmail - is because you are rethinking this latest move in light of the very unhappy customers from whom you are hearing. I have been very happy with SquirrelMail and will continue to use it. For replies, I clicked REPLY and added my comments, then clicked SEND. For the past 15 years or so, I've logged on to Squirrelmail, saw what's on the mail-spool, deleted all spam and other garbage, then downloaded the new messages to my Netscape 4.77 (2001!) Inbox folder. Your new fancy-shmancy Webmail is overkill, has a complicated interface and options that only some geeks and teenage girls want, including HTML, multicolored mail in several font sizes, and cute little kitty emoticons. The interface and feature set are very stripped-down, which some users prefer. If you do not have Apache, then you will need to install it manually. ![]() ![]() If you havent installed OpenSSL libraries and headers, use ' SSLTYPEnone ' instead of ' SSLTYPEunix '. Check the file ' Makefile ' for possible values. You can also use the Directory settings as suggested by Apache. Replace ' port-name ' above with the name that matches your system. Then, add the AllowOverride AuthConfig line. I'm not your only customer who *loves* the simplicity of Squirrelmail. Updated 7 hours ago This is an older webmail platform provided as an alternative to the current Webmail interface. Configure Apache To configure Apache to attach to squirrel mail, go to the server’s configuration page. What a nice birthday present (I'm 77 today) by the hi-tech team who always keep screwing around with something that is working perfectly. ![]()
